How would you personally define transpersonal psychology?Raye:
Well, to me, transpersonal psychology is adding in the spiritual piece , um, that has been missing it's, it's kind of like the combination of , um, psychology , uh, with the spiritual aspects of life. It's kind of like looking at , um, spiritual subject matter. What's on the other side, what's , um, what's beyond the rational. Uh, what is the non rational and how does that connect up with us? Um, I guess in, in, in Jungian terms it would be the unconscious, the collective unconscious , um, examining that, bringing that, how does that affect our conscious life? Bringing that back into the field of psychology, right, exactly. Exactly. It's, it's a little bit like healing. The split that happened in the age of when the age of reason started , uh , the 17th, 18th century in that time period, a split happened. And probably that split was necessary in a sense, because I think that the two were kind of , um, it's like a marriage, they were fused, they were merged and they didn't each appreciate or understand their own unique individuality and like a marriage. If a marriage can separate and each person can kind of come to their own , uh, unique understanding of who they are, then they can come back together with a much healthier relationship. So I think that that's, hopefully that's what will happen is that we will have the, to come back together now. Um, but with a much healthier relationship than we had back in the day,Gretchen:
