Hi, it's Gretchen, and welcome back to A Course in Miracles. Today's lesson is lesson 125, which reads, in quiet, I receive spirits word today. In quiet, I receive spirit's word today. Today's lesson is about stillness and understanding the power of silence and stillness. throughout our day, we get so caught up in the noise, and overwhelmed by all the voices and eyes, and the ideas and the dreams and the goals of everybody else. And would that's how we get caught up. In this reality that isn't real. That's how we get caught up in our public persona. And forget about our connection with spirit. It's because everything else in our life is so loud, that it overpowers us sometimes. And therefore we forget what we should truly be listening to. We want to hear the word of spirit, we want to connect with spirit, on a consistent basis, remind ourselves that love is all there is. That there is nothing to fear that we should be living from an authentic soul level and not from the level of our ego and public persona. So how do we quiet all the noise? How do we quiet those voices? Meditation is one. The other method is remembering that we save ourselves, it is a conscious choice. to free yourself from that noise. You can see at any moment, it doesn't matter. I'm not listening. It doesn't govern what I do. I am connected to spirit, I am living my life from love and not from fear. That's a choice. So the key is to actively choose it. And actively stay connected with spirit. So part of today's lesson is to practice stillness. You're going to do three sessions today, if possible, up to 10 minutes each, where your goal is just to sit in the quiet. And by quiet, I mean quiet. I want you to do your best to remove yourself from any outside influence anything that is the noise in your life. Whether it is work calls, emails, the phone vibrating while you're trying to do this television going off or you're trying to do this, your family, your kids, anything that distracts you from remembering that this connection was spirit should be at the forefront of your consciousness. I want you to remove yourself from all of the noise and practice stillness. Find those 10 minutes even if you only get 110 minute session today, do your very best. Find these avenues because these are the ones you can use over and over again. So this is also a conscious decision to find your meditation space, find your quiet room. And utilize it today. To just sit in the stillness. And listen. Get rid of whatever thoughts cross your mind and just to listen. Listen for the word of spirit. Listen, for those messages that just let you feel balanced in peaceful and calm and sent to yourself. That's the goal for today. To practice stillness, and to keep that portal open between you and Spirit so that you can live authentically and live in peace and without fear every day.
